Whey Protein Bars provide high quality protein for everybody

Almost all nutrition bars include whey protein, so it's a common ingredient in many meal replacement bars, balance bars, zone bars, diet bars, food bars, protein bars and fitness bars.

Whey protein is generally considered the preferred form of protein for male bodybuilders and weight lifters, who avoid soy. Actually, many bars contain both kind. I found one scientific study online that found little differences in them for muscle building, but I also noticed that it was run by a man who owns a soy protein bar company, so it's hardly an impartial study.

According to some information I read -- not an impartial source either -- whey protein isolates (WPI) have the best anabolic power -- that is, the build muscles the best.

Forward Foods makes the Detour Deluxe Whey Protein Energy Bar. They are 1.5 oz and come 15 to a box. Chocolate Crunchy Peanut Butter, Caramel Peanut, Chocolate Caramel, Chocolate Chip Caramel, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter, and White Chocolate Peanut Butter flavors. They have 15 grams of protein each. They contain a Designer Whey Protein Blend of whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Protein Isolate andHydrolyzed Whey Protein.

Plus Forward Foods has whey protein bars from whole grain -- Detour Oatmeal Whole Grain Whey Protein Oat Bar, Peanut Butter Banana,  and Detour Oatmeal Whole Grain Whey Protein Oat Bar, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, and Detour Whole Grain Whey Protein Oat Bar, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.

Permalean energy bars also contain whey protein: Chocoholic Chocolate Bars, Stark Raving Peanut Bars, Energy Bar Think Thin - Chunky Peanut Butter, Energy Bar -Think Thin - Brownie Crunch, Energy Bar -Think Thin - White Chocolate Chip, and Energy Bar -Think Thin - White Chocolate Raspberry. They contain only 190 calories.

YouBars contain whey protein -- Honey Cashew, Great Date With Chocolate.

YouBar has an interesting idea -- they allow you to actually "design" your own bars. You select the ingredients, and they make the bars. This includes selecting which protein powders to include, and how much. You can choose no protein, rice protein, soy protein and whey (milk) protein. You can choose up to any three of them.

You also get to choose what kind of bar bar you want -- almond butter, dates, soynut butter, their youbar base, cashew butter, organic peanut butter, or sunflower seed butter.

You can choose from a long list of nuts and seeds; dried fruits and berries; sweeteners, seasonings such as chocolate; grains and cereals; and infusions of nutrition.

Each of these bars is 45 grams in size, which is smaller than the average bar you can buy -- but hey, it's your individualized bar. I believe that as you build your bar, the web page shows you what you're getting in terms of nutrition. It may not be so easy to build the bar you want to eat, and also have it supply the nutrition you need in the proper Zone balance of 40 30 30.

Supreme Protein was voted the Protein Bar of the Year 2008 by GNC. Their original bar is 96 grams -- almost twice as large as most bars, and contains 30 grams of protein. 390 calories. The flavor is Caramel Nut Chocolate. It also contains 34 grams of carbohydrates and 16 grams of fat. This means that compared to Zone favorable bars, it's lightweight in carbs. However, that also means it won't spike your insulin, so it'd close enough to the Zone to each if you're hungry.

So there're many choices of whey protein bars.
